Let’s talk about careers. When you take a technical course in a university like Engineering or Information Technology things can start to be difficult from there. That’s because you are still at the beginning or at the middle of learning the basics of your chosen field. The same goes when you take a creative course in the university. But everything changes when you do your actual job. At first technical jobs may seem a bit difficult but sooner or later it becomes a routine. That’s not the same though for careers that center on creativity. For creative professionals like digital artists or writers, every day is a new adventure. But just like everything else in this world the gleeful feeling has an end. I am not saying that your career will totally end but it certainly will feel like you are always out of ideas like you have totally drained all the talent in you. And you know one thing about creative careers that it can only keep on surviving so long as the person still has valuable talent. Of course, if you are talented, no one can stop you from being the talented person that you are. But, there is something that can stop from being a creative person for a certain period of time – that something is creative block. But do not worry because the creative block is curable. It is something that you can cure creative clock, and that something is traveling. What Does Traveling Have Anything to do with Being More Creative? When one goes to a different place, he forgets about his job. The only thing that he can think of is that he is on vacation. One of the reasons people experience creative block in the first place is because of stress. When your brain has had enough of the worries and troubles that his job is giving him, he will go to a point where he can longer process and produce sufficient results. When one reaches this point, he can potentially be led to believe that he has run out of all the ideas. But take note that ideas can never run out. One of the reasons for this is that there is no such thing as an original idea. All the ideas that are our own are gotten from already existing ones. Given that already existing ideas are infinite, we can also assume that we have infinite ideas. It just so happens that due to the certain stress that you have felt, it is like you cannot bring out the idea in you. So, one-way traveling can help is by introducing you to new surroundings. What have you noticed when you are just having fun and not doing anything? That is usually where all your good ideas suddenly pop out. When you are out traveling, and you have a novel or other masterpiece to finish, all you have to do is record ideas that will come to you, because trust me that they will all become useful when you are back in your desk space once again. Final Verdict Traveling will also give you some time to unwind. Always remember that when you are in the creative industry, your mind is your capital. With that, if you want things to run smoothly, you need to reward yourself by traveling more regularly. This will refresh your mind and make way for more ideas to stir up.
